Newsletter - October 2008

Dear subscribers,

Well it's almost LAM time again, sorry for the lateness of the mail out but you will see why as you read on.

We have been at the Clapham Grand since the start of the LAM and apart from a few away trips it has been our home. Unfortunately the venue has changed hands and the new owners are planning to turn it into a wine bar. Yes; converting a lovely grade three converted Victorian Theatre from a venue for live music and acts into a sit down speak easy including removing the stage area.

Although we are deeply saddened by this change the different format of the venue may make it impossible for us to adapt the LAM to its new surroundings, we are therefore looking for a new home and hope to have one in place very soon. It does however mean that this LAM may be the last at the Clapham Grand, in fact while writing this I actually had the call to say it would indeed be the last LAM at the Clapham Grand.

The workshop this month will be lead by SiMply workshops who put together the stunning line up at the LAM Skin Two special in September and is titled girls on top – a reflection of the different types of female domination. It will define three of the orientations that can exist in the BDSM community. We slip into the minds of three ladies who explain what their different orientations mean to them, how their orientation affects them, and what perks their interest. We meet the Domme, the sadist, and the submissive who can top. This workshop will be particularly helpful if you are new to the scene, or embarking on a particular experience which differs to something you are familiar with.

In recognition of the need for high quality workshops and education within the SM community this months LAM will be held in support of SiMply Workshops to help them organise future events, fans of bondage and electroplay may want to mark the 2nd weekend in December down in the diary as the rumour is that they have convinced Chanta Rose to come back over and do a weekend of workshops.

The stage show at 2pm will be Alex Cobra the whipmaster, fittingly enough the first ever LAM stage show at the Clapham Grand and sadly the last. Alex is always a pleasure to watch and illustrates the level of skill with a single tail that can only be developed with years and years of practice and dedication.

We are also pleased to welcome two new stalls to the flock, namely:

  • Uber-Lox providing Crin hair extensions
  • Trainer Bryan and jess with an assortment of whips, glass dildos and arse hooks.

The LAM after Market Party is on again as usual at a venue close to Clapham Junction and offers a great chance to chill out socialise and test those new toys. Tickets are £5 at the LAM from Andrex Puppy, Volcanic Sparks or the community desk.

Although we are obviously sad to have to move on from such a lovely venue we are sure that what we have in store for the future will do justice to the fun social and energetic event that the LAM has become. We hope you will be able to join us to say farewell to the grand and that you will join us at the re launch of the LAM at the new venue.

Thanks for all your support overt he last 2 and a half years, don't worry it's not the end of the LAM just the start of an exciting new chapter.

If you can't make it on Sunday make sure you catch us at the Xpo at the Barbican overt he weekend where we will be running a slide show of many of the great shots of the LAM Skin Two special last month including the stage and fashion shows.

Regards,
