London Alternative Market

Newsletter - 4th August 2006

Dear subscribers,

There are only a few days left before the next London Alternative Market; we're busy (as ever!) putting the finishing touches to the event. Several new stalls this month provide shopping opportunities for even more choices in exciting clothing and shoes as well as new toys and other devious delights:

  • Curvessence — Custom corsetry and clothing for the beautiful to burlesque, kinky to curvy.
  • Madame Di Amante — Gothic/Cyber alternative clothing and accessories, and body jewellery.
  • foxxxloves — New Stockings, buzzy toys & end of line bargains.  New and Nearly-new hats, fetish kit & clothing, Spank Magazines etc — Interesting things at interesting prices.
  • IconShoes — High heel shoes for shoe lovers and dancers.
  • JBW's Dungeon Clearance - a variety of items at bargain prices, everything must go (to good homes preferably).
  • My Lady's Crepes and the Deviant Diner will be providing sustenance on the gallery level as usual. New summer treats have been added to the usual menu and (of course!) you can relax and enjoy the great photography and art displays while you eat.

As always, there is a packed schedule for the day:

  • 11am — Doors open.
  • 12:30pm — LAM workshop. The 4th LAM workshop, focussing on rope bondage, is hosted by Music Lover of M L accessories. Entry to this is included in the LAM ticket and handouts will be available. The workshop will illustrate the Do's and Don'ts of playing with rope.
  • 2pm — there will be a live play scene on stage; the organiser has asked that the details be kept secret until just before the session so that the star does not know what to expect. The pair of crew members who know the details will be making sure not to miss it!
  • 4pm — we will be welcoming back John Pendal from the Spanner Trust to give us an update on the trust's activities.
  • After John — the community cause's raffle draw will take place.
  • 6pm — LAM closes; till next month, of course!

This month, the following prizes are up for grabs in the cause's raffle:

  • An A4 original personal portrait in either water colour or pencil sketch (the winner's choice and up to the value of £300) donated by Tracie of TracieArt.com who will work from a photograph to recreate the image for you.
  • A pair of tickets to Club Subversion.
  • £30 shopping voucher to spend at the LAM with Impact Edge.
  • £30 shopping voucher to spend at the LAM with Pretty Pervy.
  • £25 shopping voucher to spend at the LAM donated by the LAM crew.

The LAM has, after only 5 events, raised over £2600 for scene-based community causes. So you can feel really good about having a great day out while also providing real support to our community. The LAM crew would like to express sincere thanks to all those who have attended the events to date and helped raise this amazing sum, particularly the traders and London clubs who provide raffle prizes!

The LAM After-Market Party is going from strength to strength and offers a great atmosphere for people to continue socialising and also an opportunity to test new purchases while having access to quality equipment.

We look forward to seeing you this coming Sunday 6th August 2006 and again the month after (Sunday 3rd September), when the supported cause will be the Sexual Freedom Coalition. They will be announcing raffle prizes in due course.

Regards,
