Newsletter - 8th June 2006

Dear subscribers,

Big thanks to all those that came to the fourth LAM. It is always good to see new faces along with those we have already got to know. Another weekend of great club events, great parties…. and hard graft for the LAM crew. We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we all did.

The workshop on Flogging and Floggers by Vicky from Freak Clubwear went down well and the new location allowed for an amphitheatre seating effect that we will definitely use again.

The demo by The Great Voltini was absolutely stunning, and very well received. We are hoping to be able to invite him back to provide a very different, but equally breath taking performance. It's a pleasure to give the stage over to such a great performer with real presence. The LAM will continue to search out unusual acts and performances for your future entertainment – ideas welcome.

We are a little behind with the Event Gallery for the website but we are kept very busy with the fast-paced evolution of the LAM so please bear with us a little longer.

The total donation for Outsiders, our June community cause was £310 bringing the total to date to £2117.45 after only 4 events. The following message was sent to us by Outsiders with a request to include it in this newsletter:

Outsiders were the charity supported at this week's event and over £300 was raised. We are so very grateful to David and all the team for their help. To everyone who came, took flyers, and asked about our work, thank you all.

Outsiders, which aims to help disabled people find partners and enjoy sex like the rest of us, has been going over twenty years. And, this year it is the Twentieth anniversary of Outsiders main fund-raising event - what was once the Sex Maniacs Ball is now the Night of The Senses, but behind it all is still the inimitable Tuppy Owens and her band of dedicated volunteers.

The Night of the Senses is on Saturday 2 September at SEONE, close to London Bridge - as always there will be something for everyone - from fetish to fun, from spanking to striptease! - Oh yes and the Erotic Awards too! And if you are from out of town why not couple a visit with a trip to the London Alternative Market the next day.

We hope those of you who bought a copy of Chanta Rose's superb book Bondage for Sex remembered to get it signed and are enjoying it. No-one remembers seeing Steve from Raison D'Etre smile for so long before. His only disappointment is that he is not able to come see her at the rope bondage workshops on 10th June.

The LAM After-Market Party offered a great chance to unwind at the end of the day, particularly as the beer garden was open. It was nice to so many new and old friends enjoying one of the first good sunny weekends of the year.

We look forward to seeing you next month on Sunday 2nd July 2006. The supported community cause for July is Unfettered, who will be announcing raffle prizes soon.

Next months workshop is Introduction to Electroplay by MC of The LAM Crew. This will form the foundation for more specific TENS and Violet wand workshops in future months. Full details will be released just before the event. The workshop will be at 12:30pm on the lower levels of the gallery so that everyone can get a good view.

Next month's demo will be another spectacular – a showcase of different styles of erotic dancing, from Burlesque to Striptease, by Jo King of the London School of Striptease.

We look forward to welcoming you back next month – bring a friend or two!

Regards,

The London Alternative Market Team
