London Alternative Market

Newsletter - 3rd May 2006

Dear subscribers,

With only a few days left until the next London Alternative Market, yet again we have news of new features to share with you. This time, the main changes we're looking forward to are:

  • At 12pm there will be the first LAM workshop; it will be on the subject of caning and be given by Chopper of Spanking Tools. The workshop (which is included in the price of admission, and will include a hand-out) will illustrate the different types of canes available in the UK as well as giving a practical demonstration of both their use and sensible after-care procedures. If this feature proves popular we will encourage other stall holders to run similar sessions each month.
  • The inaugural LAM ST after-market party! Details of the location will be available from the LAM community desk as well as from any member of the LAM crew. The location is within extremely easy walking distance (yes, even in heels!) of the market. The party will run from 5.30pm until 11pm and food will be available at the venue. Having worked with Mike on Sweet Torments for some time, now, we thought he was the logical partner to kick off the expanded event, and we are sure the after-market party will be as popular as when he used to run it at The Lamb on North Road near Shilibeers a few years ago.

These changes have resulted in slight changes to the running order of the event, but we hope you will agree that it will make for a more relaxed program...

  • 11am - doors open to public
  • 12pm - workshop starts
  • 2pm - play demo on stage; The Leather Family doing a ribbons and swords suspension
  • 4pm - Speech given by our sponsored cause for May, Feminists Against Censorship, followed shortly by the charity raffle draw
  • 5.30pm - After-market party opens its doors
  • 6pm - LAM closes

The nominated good cause this month is Feminists Against Censorship who will be providing us with an update of their activities and plans for the future. The raffle prizes this month are:

Raffle tickets will be available from the FAC stall as well as from volunteers who will be circulating.

We look forward to seeing you both on Sunday and at next month's event (Sunday 4th June 2006), where the supported cause will be Outsiders. They will be announcing the raffle prizes in due course.

Regards,
